We read a lot of stories, but how about raiding some tombs for a goddess with no name? That’s all we need sometimes.

Today’s short story is Faêl, by Tobi Ogundiran, as featured in Beneath Ceaseless Skies. You can find it here. A story of mythology, spelunking, and of course, finding some dark secret. So let’s get to exploring (because we have more of that coming soon).

Rebel Born (Secondborn Book 3) by [Bartol, Amy A.]

Today’s novel review is Rebel Born, by Amy A. Bartol. You can buy a copy here. If you haven’t seen them, I reviewed the last two books in the series, Secondborn and Traitor Born. As a note I will be referring to the previous two books, so this will have spoilers from those. So if you haven’t had a chance read them all before digging in to this review. Speaking of, let’s get going.

To begin, I’m not someone who practices Islam. I wasn’t born under it and I barely know anything about it. But I do enjoy stories based around culture outside of the states (especially creative tales) so I figured I’d give this a go.

The idea is to basically starve yourself (or give something up) for a set period, typically several hours to a full day.

For healthcare, this is normal. Being tied to religion, however, can have damaging consequences. So let’s get into it. Continue reading “Fiction Friday: Temptation (Eid al-Fitr Special)”
