Don’t forget, the inn is always open. I kinda feel bad reviewing Nightmare Magazine stories once a year. It’s from the people who run Lightspeed, but I’ve never been that into the horror genre. Regardless, I … Continue reading Fiction Friday: Ghost Jeep (Halloween Special)

I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how they made superhero movies a viable genre, so much so that people are discussing Black Panther getting an Oscar nomination. Before that, superhero movies were either campy, mediocre, or downright terrible. Granted, there are still films made today that aren’t under the MCU banner that have varying reception. And even before Spider-Man Homecoming, there was a reboot of the Spider-Man series that didn’t go over too well. In that vein, came one of Spider-Man’s iconic rivals. Venom.

When the trailer for this launched, it excluded the title character to keep the mystery. Since then, he’s become somewhat of a question mark and people try to figure out what role it had in the film. Now that the film’s out, I figured I’d at least check it out. So, let’s see how this goes down. Continue reading “Venom Review”

Today’s short story is Big Boss Bitch by Adrienne Celt, as featured in Lightspeed Magazine. You can find it here. This story is about a no-nonsense woman who becomes president, all while politicians use it as an excuse to replace her with an android of their own. So let’s see how this goes. FLCL Alternative

I’ve mentioned FLCL (Fooly Cooly) being one of my favorite anime series. I’ve spoken highly of its follow-up, FLCL Progressive, and it’s final season, FLCL Alternative has come and gone. It features another female protagonist, but instead of a loner, it’s a group of friends trying to live a somewhat normal life in the world. So let’s get going and see how this all ends. Fiction Friday is a series where I talk about what I’ve been reading. Short Stories (and sometimes Novellas) are featured as in-between posts and the first Friday of the month will feature a new novel review. Today, I review Check Out The Library Weenies by David Lubar

Time for some strange and creepy tales. Hope you’re not a weenie.

Today’s novel is actually a short story anthology. It’s Check Out The Library Weenies, by David Lubar. You can find it here. I’ve had a love for this author for a long time and am always fascinated by an author having just as strange of a mind as mine. In fact, he’s the reason I became an author to begin with. But it’s the halloween season, so I figured I’d share a little spookyness and showcase a few stories I enjoyed out of this.

And believe me. I enjoyed pretty much a good portion of this book. But I don’t want to review everything for the sake of time, so I’ll review a few that stand out. Continue reading “Fiction Friday: Check Out The Library Weenies Review”
