Hello. It’s been a while since I’ve done these so I figured I should at least give an update on how things are going.
As you know already, Covid-19 is taking its toll on the world, and sadly, I’m no different in that situation. I’m not sick in the slightest, but I was laid off from my job, so money has been tight lately. I filed for unemployment and hopefully that’ll stave off some of the costs and help me out. Until I can find…anything really, it’s gonna be a tough battle, especially if this lasts for a while. Treatment can’t come soon enough.
On a lighter note, The Daughter of Dragons book 1 is now at 42k words, well above its intended goal. I’ve decided to make this a trilogy because of a few things. One, this isn’t going to be short in the slightest. I figured making smaller worlds while still keeping that fantasy view would definitely make things more engaging than a 20k novella would. Plus, I can alternate between my major works and these over time.
Second, there isn’t a lot of primeval fantasy in this type of setting, and hopefully my addition would be welcomed among the sword and sorcery fantasy tales. I admit, I’ve never done anything like this before, but it’s good to be diverse sometimes.
Finally, I mentioned it on Monday, but I have been featured in Mythaxis, vol. 1, a review magazine that released its first ever issue online. You can buy an issue here and help support creators like myself. I cannot say if more will happen down the line, but this is indeed a fun endeavor and my reputation is definitely growing. Hopefully I can be involved in more non-fiction publications alongside some big names.
That’s all for today. Take care, and remember, the inn is always open.
