My first novella, City of Kaiju, is finally out! Available through Amazon and Books2Read. You can see a preview of the very first chapter here. Help support a fresh new author with a fantastic read this summer.
I have also launched a Patreon to fund myself and future projects for you guys to read. You can find it here. Any support is greatly appreciated and it comes with cool perks, none of which are pay-walled. All of my stories are available to anyone, Patreon or not, so you have nothing to lose.
It’s August 2019. I have some important news regarding the website, so let’s get into it.
So, to begin, I have to be upfront about something. I haven’t been as productive on the blog as I would have liked. I keep missing deadlines, I always delay or even outright cancel blog posts because either I’m too exhausted to do so, or real life matters. I’ve also been struggling with depression and fatigue that’s making me not as active as I would have liked.
This extends into my writing. I’ve been super behind because I’ve been so focused on my blog that it’s holding me back. I intended to launch pre-orders this month, but since I’ve been struggling with the rewrite, it’s been challenging for me to balance two blog posts a week, and a story at the same time, all while holding a full time job. The stress has been excruciating. It’s not because I’m lazy, it’s because I have a job and several projects to work on at the same time. I’ve been thinking long and hard and something has to give.
At this point, the blog itself is going on a temporary hiatus for the remainder of the year. Once things are sorted out, I might return with a new format. In its place, I’ll have two status updates a month instead of one. One at the first of the month, and the other on the fifteenth of each month. I might have smaller updates here and there, especially previews and announcements, but as far as main posts, I need a break. I want to spend more time writing stories, because at the Silver Claw Inn, we’re ALL about stories. That’s what you want, right?
This is a minor setback. I have more plans for this website, including cleaning this website, which hasn’t changed all that much since 2016 when I first made it. It’s long overdue.
As for actual writing, The Daughter of Dragons is being written piece by piece. Now that I have a game plan, I intend to get it finished this weekend. This will get done one way or another and with this slight hiatus, I can get things done quicker than I had before. So, really, this isn’t just beneficial for me, it’s beneficial for all of us.
That’s all for today. If you liked this post and want to see more, I have a Ko-Fi page set up. Why spend three bucks on a Starbucks Coffee when you can help support hard-working authors like me? Every bit helps and keeps me going. So thank you, and remember, the inn is always open.
