Current Progress

Upcoming Novel Progress: Rough Draft Finished. 26 Chapters Total.

Current Total Word Count: 54,338

It’s June 18th, 2017.

Rough Draft is finished. Now comes the big editing phase. I said I would complete my rough draft in June and that’s exactly what I did. Now come the fun part of editing this monster into better words and more coherent story. It’s coming along beautifully.

Ramblings:

I’m done. Now what?

I’m not going to lie. This was one of the hardest things I ever did in my time as a writer. Back when I did some of my personal stories, I would bang out several chapters and be done in under a month. I also focused on finishing and not looking back, making minor changes here and there. Now that I’m set on being a published author someday (by someday, I hopefully mean soon), I have to take my process seriously and make it as publishable as I can on my own. I have to take character, theme, description, all of that stuff into more careful consideration. I want my stories to be award winning and well received, even if it takes a long time for it to happen.

As for what’s next, I’ll take some time to celebrate my hard work and after maybe a month or so, I’ll get back to making it stronger and better. I’ll also work on another series outside of just this one. My tentative release is some time in 2018. I know that’s at least a year out, but I want this to be a pure goal.

It’s a calm feeling knowing that I finished a massive book that’s over fifty thousand words long. And by the time I’m done, it will be longer. This has been such a huge endeavor for me, and I hope it’s worth it.

That’s all for today. Take care, and remember, the inn is always open.
